Olympia, Washington State’s Capital and home of the Governor’s mansion, is located at the southern part of Puget Sound. Olympia was named the capital in 1853 and Washington was the 42nd state to enter the union in 1889. Downtown Olympia has restaurants, over 450 independent business and 1900 residents. Close by is Washington’s military base JBLM. Located in the heart of Thurston County, Olympia has and abundance of local bakeries, restaurants, walking trails, stores, parks, Bed & Breakfast and let’s not forget the snow-capped Mt Rainier! Fantastic views and just a short drive to Paradise at the base of the mountain.
